Part-time female Personal Assistant / Support Worker – Horwich

We are looking to recruit a Personal Assistant to provide support to a young dad of three, who is living with Parkinson’s disease. The role will be to provide him with his personal care 6 mornings per week and to support him to get out and about and access various activities within his local area, such as shopping and café visits.
Your role will be to support him with his mobility, he is able to get about independently for short distances but may use a wheelchair for short distances. Your role will also include support to access medical appointments and light cleaning tasks.
The right person
Ideally, you would have come with experience of supporting people, however, experience in a caring role is not necessary. The right attitude and an understanding of the issues that people face who have Parkinson’s is more important.
You will need to have a full, clean and valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
6.5 hours per week. These are to be worked as follows:
6 mornings per week for 30 minutes from 8.30 am (days are flexible)
3.5 hours during the week (the employer is willing to be flexible around when the hours are worked)
Travel expenses will be paid when supporting with accessing the community.
The rates of pay and benefits
£8.21 Monday – Saturday
£9.22 Bank Holidays
You will receive paid holidays and the opportunity for training relevant to your role.
