About Me

I am a dad of two and live in the Bolton area with my partner and her guide dog. I have a passion for music, am a keen sports fan and enjoy computers and technology.

The role

I am very independent in most areas, but as myself and my partner are blind, I need some support to get out and about and to go shopping and visit my children who are aged 9 and 12 and live in the Leeds area (I will need a Support Worker who can drive and is willing to use their car to travel to Leeds on a monthly basis, mileage allowance will be paid). I need help with cooking and occasional support with correspondence.

The right person

It is not essential that you have experience or qualifications in care and support but you must have common sense, enthusiasm and have a good sense of humour, like me! You must also be comfortable around children and dogs.

You must have a full, clean and valid driving license and a car to use for work purposes.

Successful applicants will be required to undergo a DBS check (cost to the employer).

The Hours

10 hours per week to be worked Tuesday and Thursday afternoon (the employer is willing to be flexible around times) One full Saturday will be worked monthly to support me to visit my children in Leeds.

The rates of pay

£9.90 per hour for work Monday to Sunday.
