Are you someone who is self-motivated, enthusiastic and keen to support young people to reach their full potential? Do you want a flexible part-time job that can work around your life and other work commitments?
If so, then a role as a Personal Assistant could be for you!
We are looking for 2 part-time Support Workers to work with a very active young man. This young person has an annexe space attached to his parents’ home which provides the ideal base for supporting him to build his independent living skills. The young man has a learning disability, Autism and Epilepsy. His superpower is his personality and his infectious smile! He will require support to manage his personal care, to get out and about and to prepare simple meals. You will support him to access his local community, for example, to visit horse therapy.
The right person
It is essential that you have some experience of supporting people with Autism and it is desirable that you have experience of supporting an individual to enhance independence. You must have energy, common sense, patients, a positive attitude, enthusiasm and a good sense of humour.
You will be required to drive and have your own car available for work purposes.
Successful applicants will be required to undergo a DBS check (the cost to the employer).
We are looking for at least 2 PA’s who will between them work the following hours:
In school term time Monday to Friday – 7.00 am – 9.00 am plus
3 hours per week support in the evening (times will be activity-dependent)
6 hours per week on a Saturday (generally from 10-4)
In non-term time Monday to Friday – 8.00 am-4.00 pm
The rates of pay
£8.72 per hour Monday – Saturday. There are 5.6 weeks paid holiday per year.
