New Beginnings and White Roses
Creating new Opportunities for Independent Living
It’s another one of those “goosebump” moments as we take on a new challenge, this time in York.
After undertaking a process to be chosen by the Council for Voluntary Services in York, we are taking on the Independent Living Scheme which has operated in York for a good number of years and is much appreciated by the people using the scheme as well as the Council who commission the work.
With the Council poised to make some changes to improve the management of funds and the operation of direct payments, we are pleased to provide our experience and support to York.
Crossing the Pennines from the west marks a new era for Salvere as we cover an even greater distance than before. We are going to have to get used to seeing white roses instead of red! The good thing is that we are inheriting an established team based in York and a strong relationship with the CVS which should help us settle well in the coming months.
The council is redesigning its contractual arrangements to increase choice for local people. We plan to maintain a strong presence in York and to support the growth of self-management for care and support.
