Join a great team of support
We are looking to recruit a team of Personal Support Assistants to support a 44-year-old woman who has an incomplete spinal cord injury C6 and complex health needs. The lady lives in her home in Northallerton, North Yorkshire. You will provide clinical and personal care, emotional and social support, health monitoring with relevant responses, maintaining personal safety and administering medications. You will be trained in the clinical interventions required to do the job. NB this list is not exhaustive.
It is not essential that you have experience in care and support but essential attributes include empathy, enthusiasm, a calm approach, willingness to learn and adapt, reliability and flexibility in a changing situation.
You will work independently as a member of an experienced and competent team. You will receive support during induction from the employer and her team, during which you will receive full training in all aspects of clinical and other duties. It is a lively home, with cats, where everyone works well together. Support is primarily provided within the home, which is adapted. Respect for the employer’s space and privacy is essential.
Hours: there are days and night shifts available (including relief/bank)
Shifts are 8 am till 8 pm and the waking night is 8 pm – 8 am. The rate of pay is £9.50 per hour and you will receive 5.6 weeks paid leave.
Successful applicants will be subject to a DBS check and clearance (at a cost to the employer)
Waking hours staff must be able to drive
