We are looking to recruit 2 more personal assistants to an already established team working with a young man in Moor Row Cumbria. No experience is required, but it will help to have a knowledge of learning difficulties compounded with challenging behaviour.
You will be responsible for supporting a young 19-year-old man who has complex medical needs and learning difficulties, which include challenging behaviour, in his family home in Moor Row. You will provide support with personal care, social activities both in the home and out in the wider community. You will be involved in the administering medication which also includes rescue medication for Epilepsy. NB this list is not exhaustive.
It is not essential that you have experience in care and support but essential attributes include empathy, patience, enthusiasm, a willingness to learn and adapt, reliability and flexibility in a changing situation. Full training will be given to support you in this role and a structured induction process will be followed.
You will receive 5.6weeks annual leave each year
The Hours: on average each week there will be 35 hours, this will be discussed further at interview if required. Your shifts will be based on a rota and will include waking nights and weekend support. You will be asked from time to time to cover other PA’s annual leave and sickness where needed.
A DBS will be completed, which the employer will fund if you have been successful.
There will be a 12 weeks probationary period, on successful completion of this you will then be given a permanent contract.
