What is National Minimum Holiday Entitlement?
Almost all workers (people who are employed) are legally entitled to 5 or 6 weeks’ paid holiday from work per year. This is known as statutory leave entitlement or annual leave.
This minimum entitlement can change and, to keep up-to-date with this, you can call Salvere Independent Living or go to https://www.gov.uk/holiday-entitlement-rights/entitlement
What should I pay my Personal Assistant?
We get asked this a lot. Especially as PAs can work for the same person over a long time and become a close support. Also, a PA can get better terms of work and pay than working as a care worker for an agency, so expectations can rise.
Salvere advisors can help you to work out a rate of pay for the people who work for you that fits with the level of support you need.
We will help you to understand the best way to do this, taking into consideration how you plan to make a better life within the limits of your budget. This is to ensure that you will have enough surplus funds left over to meet your responsibilities as an employer. Pay rates can vary accordingly. You can talk to one of our Independent Living Advisors who will be able to talk you through this to ensure you get it right.
