The Role

A family is seeking a personal care assistant in Acomb. You will support an adult brother and sister with Down’s Syndrome who live in their own home. This post is to provide support with personal care, shopping, cooking, cleaning etc.

The Person

You will join a lovely team of established carers who work with the family during the week, supported by the clients’ sister who lives next door. The family is seeking someone friendly, caring and reliable. Experience of supporting people with Learning Disabilities or providing care to individuals is an advantage but not essential. Routine is important, so the family is seeking someone looking for a long term, permanent position. Some flexibility to cover additional shifts when other team members are on leave would be an advantage.

Experience of supporting people with learning disabilities or providing care to individuals is essential.

Driver is preferred.

The Hours

We are looking to recruit 2 x Personal Care Assistants to cover the following hours between them: Saturdays 8.45am – 5.00pm
Saturdays 5.00pm – Sunday 8.45am (sleep In)
Sunday 8.45am – 5.00pm

The Pay

The family is offering higher-than-average wages for this caring role in order to recruit the right candidates. £12.67 per hour. A sleep over is 10.30pm-7.00am and is paid at £68.62 per night.

Successful applicants must be eligible to work in the UK. This post is subject to satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS check, the cost of which will be met by your employer.
