Personal Assistant for a young man with learning disabilities in York
Calm and collected
This is you?
Are you someone who is calm and able to use their own initiative? Can you support a young man with learning disabilities who is living at home? Do you want a job that is rewarding and fulfilling?
Can you use your own day to day experiences and training to help someone to keep safe and make good progress in the development of independent life skills? Yes! This is for you then!
The right person
It is not essential that you have experience in care and support. However, knowledge of supporting people with epilepsy would be an advantage. You will need to have your own transport to get to work on the outskirts of York (public transport options are limited).
You must however be:
- Compassionate and caring.
- Capable of communicating effectively and have a consistent approach.
- Physically fit and able to support a young man to get about in his own home.
- Prepared to provide personal care as required.
- Happy to learn.
3 hours per fortnight on Thursday evenings 7pm to 10pm
£10 per hour
You will be supporting this young man in his own home which includes assisting him to get ready for bed.
Successful applicants must be eligible to work in the UK. This post is subject to DBS checks.
