Personal Assistant / Support Worker required in York for social/community support

A 16-year-old young lady is looking for support that will enable her to pursue her interests, which include shopping, eating out, cooking and baking, going to the cinema, visiting museums, going for walks and the occasional drive out.
The right person
Some experience in care and support would be advantageous.
You must be understanding of the young lady’s needs, patient, kind and lots of fun!
You should be physically fit enough to participate in activities including pushing the young lady’s manual wheelchair.
You will need to be able to drive and have a vehicle to use for work purposes that can easily store a wheelchair.
It is important for you to have some medical knowledge regarding heart conditions and be aware of the procedures to follow when any concerns are identified, such as chest pain. You should be familiar with the signs to look out for that may indicate that the young lady is unwell and be confident in dealing with any issues that may arise.
Flexible support for an average of 2-3 hours per week between the hours of 11am and 3pm. There may be some weeks where slightly more or less hours are required.
Days and times will be agreed in advance. We are interested in hearing from you if you have availability between the above times on any day of the week.
The rates of pay and benefits
£8.91 per hour
You will receive paid holidays.
Successful applicants must be eligible to work in the UK. This post is subject to DBS checks the cost of which will be met by your employer.
